to approve these as “parent club titles,” which can attach to a dog’s AKC registration and name. The Board thanked DDV and Mary for a truly comprehensive draft Dandie Versatility Plan that showcases an incredible variety of activities and events in which Dandies can participate. The Board agreed to review the draft Dandie Versatility Plan and to discuss it further at the next Board meeting. • The Board confirmed the procedures consistent with the Club’s Bylaws and Policies for mailing the second round of Judge Selection Ballots for the 2025-2026 National Specialties. Recording Secretary Trisha L. Smith agreed to send the Second Ballots to Members who were in good standing via the United States Postal Service. Members would have until Saturday, May 4 th , 2024, to postmark their Second Ballots and mail them back to the Tabulation Committee. Earl Hunt would Chair the Tabulation Committee, which planned to meet on Saturday May 18 th , 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Steve Houser’s and Dick Yoho’s homes. Members could participate in the Tabulation Meeting via Zoom. • To resolve outstanding issues raised by Mike Macbeth (President of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of Canada) about DDTCA Regions, President Sandra Wolfskill and Mike Macbeth met via conference call and agreed that the DDTCA will list our Regions within the United States, with a tag line that any foreign members would be considered participants in a Region adjacent to where they live (“ Canadian Proposal ”). Sandra Wolfskill advised Mike Macbeth that the Canadian Proposal required the DDTCA Board’s approval before it could be finalized and put into effect, and Mike agreed. Sandra Wolfskill circulated the Canadian Proposal to the Board for review prior to the meeting. Cathy LoCascio moved that the Board accept the Canadian Proposal. Trisha L. Smith seconded the motion. The “aye” votes had it unanimously, and the motion carried. The Board approved the Canadian Proposal. • President Emeritus Dick Yoho circulated information about AKC’s Pupdate Program to the Board prior to the meeting. He reported that AKC Pupdate is a free, weekly email newsletter with personalized content based on your puppy’s breed and age. This newsletter is for all puppies, including mixed breed dogs and dogs not registered with the AKC. The Pupdate Program gives AKC parent clubs a promotional opportunity to connect with new puppy owners, to promote their breed, and to collect feedback. Clubs that participate in the Pupdate promotional get a personalized email sent to new puppy owners based on the breed’s unique qualities and characteristics that includes the parent club’s logo, puppy photo chosen by the club, and information about how the new owner can access club resources and link to the club’s webpage. To date, 77 breeds have already joined AKC Pupdate. The Board agreed that this was a great idea. Trisha L. Smith moved that DDTCA participate in AKC’s Pupdate Program. D’Arcy Downs-Vollbracht seconded the motion.

The “aye” votes had it unanimously, and the motion carried. The Board approved the Club’s participation in AKC’s Pupdate Program. 1. April 23, 2024 • President Sandra Wolfskill reported some good news: Beginning May 1, 2024, AKC will work with Darkness to Light to provide Stewards of Children Training (i.e., how to recognize and report child abuse and exploitation). Eventually, AKC will require this Training for all judges and AKC employees. The Training will first be required for anyone who judges Juniors. SW commended AKC for its swift and decisive action, and for taking this matter seriously. • Sandra Wolfskill reported more good news: The Canine Health Foundation reports that DDTCA’s Donor Advised Fund is up to $3,259.00 based on various donations from the Club and Members. • The Board continued discussing the appointment of Chairs and filling all remaining Committee positions. President Sandra Wolfskill noted that although some Committee and Regional Director positions remain open, she confirmed that these individuals had graciously volunteered to serve for the following positions: o AKC Gazette Columnist – D’Arcy Downs-Vollbracht o Junior Handler Chair – Kara Coykendall o ROM Eligibility and Tracking – Karen Dorn and Sandra Wolfskill o Woodfield Investment Committee: Third Position – Trista Acker Sandra Wolfskill asked for a motion to approve these four (4) new appointments. Rich Harvey made the motion, and Cathy LoCascio seconded the motion. The “aye” votes had it unanimously, and the motion carried. • D’Arcy Downs-Vollbracht and Mary Downs continued their work on the Versatility for Dandies Project (“ Dandie Versatility Project ”). Prior to the Board meeting, D’Arcy circulated to the Board the revised draft Dandie Dinmont Terrier Versatility, Versatility Excellent, and Versatility Supreme Plan prepared by D’Arcy and Mary Downs (“ Dandie Versatility Plan ”). Members can accrue stars and points towards Versatility awards by participating in events such as Meet the Breeds, Scottish Festivals, etc. D’Arcy recommended that - because there are so many different types of versatility competitions - our Club should keep the Versatility Application as focused, streamlined and simple as possible and focus on Versatility Excellent and Versatility Supreme. All titles are very earnable based on the number of stars and point values structured within the proposed Versatility Plan. The Board discussed the revised Dandie Versatility Plan. President Sandra Wolfskill asked for a motion to approve the revised Dandie Versatility Plan with the modifications as discussed during the Board Meeting. Cathy LoCascio moved, and Trisha L. Smith seconded the motion. The Board discussed announcing the Versatility
