Canine Hoopers!

• Low impact version of agility! • No jumps – instead the dog runs through ground level hoops! • No high impact equipment – just barrels, hoops, and tunnels! • Courses are designed to be flowing with no tight turns like in agility! • Low impact – suitable for all breeds! • Long-term, the goal is that dog completes the course with distance handling – hand signals and verbal cues signal the dog round the course!

• In the UK, Hoopers is a relatively new sport. Competitions are run by Canine Hoopers UK. They also provide a list of accredited trainers. There are three training awards you can achieve: bronze, silver, and gold! As a relatively new sport in the UK, Hoopers is not yet recognised by the KC for KC Hoopers competitions. • In America, Hoopers is known as Grounders, a combined hoopers and barrels class run by the North American Dog Agility Council.
