Meet the New Board Members

Trista Acker, Treasurer

I’ve been charmed by Dandies since I saw one in an encyclopedia in the fourth grade. After years of thinking that I would like to one day own a Dandie, I met a few at a dog show and, after that, they got bumped up to the number one spot on my breed bucket list. As soon as I was able to, I got my first in 2020. Sadly, he died young due to illness, but not long after that, my current Dandie entered my life. I love the unusual and adorable look of the breed; I love their sweet devotion to their people; and I love their funny name. In my time as Corresponding Secretary, I shall do my best to assist the Recording Secretary in her duties and manage member information accurately and in a timely manner. I also hope to help the club find ways to increase awareness of the breed and carefully plan future shows. Richard Harvey, Board

Hello, my name is Trista Acker and I am the newly elected club Treasurer. I have had a life-long love of Dandies, as I grew up with them throughout my child hood. I love Dandies for their versatility, loving loyalty, and unique appearance. They are big and sturdy

enough to hold their own, but still a lap dog for snuggling. I began showing about nine years ago and have bred three litters under my kennel name Daisyfields. It is so rewarding to do my part in saving the breed and I have learned so much! And I have made many new friends who share my love of the breed. My goal is to support the club and their endeavors to educate people about the DDT and save the breed from

extinction for future generations to love. Darcy Downs-Vollbracht, Board

We are a family of five (seven, including Dandies). My wife is a chef and the kids and I are pipers and drummers. Huimi is the chef, Mia and Jayden are pipers, and TaeMok is our snare drummer. It is hard to choose between bringing bagpipes or Dandies to parades! Can’t do both because Dandies don’t like to walk straight, they want to

My family bred and raised Border Terriers and I have carried on the tradition. I train and play Earthdog, NASDA, Rally, FastCat, Barn Hunt, scent work, tracking and I work my dogs clearing feedlots of vermin from September to May. I’ve bred numerous champions, specialty and group placing dogs, and Versatility and

meet everyone! I work in Broadcast Engineering, anywhere you see video I am involved. If you watch any Bloomberg TV or ESPN you have seen my work. My only background in dogs is the wonderful dogs that have shared my life. After meeting Bebe and Harper (and Diane Hanowitz) at the Ohio games, we started researching and looking for our own. After almost three years we had the opportunity to get Lady Marion, so we drove from NJ to Orlando, FL, to meet Richard Yoho and his gaggle of

Versatility Excellent dogs. My sister, Mary Downs, introduced me to Dandies and breed preservation and genetics and health are my passion. I live in rural Northwest Arizona with my husband Bob and our ranch animals. Arlette Hamilion, Corresponding Secretary Hi, all! I’m pleased and honored to be selected as the club’s Corresponding Secre-tary.
