The Dandie Dinmont Club of America Special Awards 2024 National Specialty – June 1, 2024

Through the generosity of individuals, as listed, the DDTCA has six “special” awards, not awarded in the ring, but associated with the annual National Specialty. These awards are: Best in Sweepstakes : The Velma R. Longhorn Memorial Trophy, a silver bowl on a wooden base, offered through the DDTCA, for competition at its Specialty Shows only. Permanent possession is retained by the DDTCA. Best of Breed : The Waterbeck Watermark Trophy, donated by Dr. M. Josephine Deubler, a silver plated 16” silver vase on a wooden base, offered through the DDTCA, for competition at its Specialty Shows only. Permanent possession is retained by the DDTCA. Reserve Winners Dog : The Windsedge Lord Trystan Trophy, a Chester 1896 Victorian silver fluted trumpet bud vase and three sterling silver Dandie sculptures mounted on a wooden box, donated by Steven Houser and Richard Yoho, offered through the DDTCA, for competition at its Specialty Shows only. Permanent possession is retained by the DDTCA. 1 st Place – Bred By Exhibitor Dog: The Doric Quaich Trophy, a polished pewter Scottish cup of friendship, donated by Robert and Edna Bell in memory of Eng/Am CH Butterywells Doric of

Hendell, offered through the DDTCA, for completion at its specialty show only. Permanent possession is retained by the DDTCA. Best Puppy: The Leah Shelton Best in Specialty Puppy Award, offered through the DDTCA, for competition at its specialty show only. Permanent possession is retained by the DDTCA. Best Veteran: The Derrydown Best Veteran Trophy, an antique silver tray donated by Karen and Larry Dorn, Derrydown Dandie Dinmont Terriers, for competition at the national Specialty only. Permanent possession is retained by the DDTCA . First offered at the 2024 National Specialty. Other 2024 Special Donations A special “thank-you” to Jonathan Hill and Preston Geary who donated an original hand-made Dandie Dinmont Terrier quilt with pillows for the Best of Opposite Sex winner.
