Diary, ” in the British magazine, Our Dogs , wrote, “ I remember my American friends telling me when Mrs. Foster Rawlins, who founded the American Dandie Dinmont Club, left her native States to live in this country, that the zest had gone out of the cult across the Atlantic. ”
Fortunately, the club was re - established in 1932 and became an AKC member in 1936, and the “ cult across the Atlantic ” quickly regained its “ zest ” which it has maintained to the present day. So, although our current club has existed for a “ mere ” 90 years, between the two Dandie Dinmont Clubs, there has been an affiliation with the American Kennel Club for over 100 years. That is a fact worthy of appreciation and, indeed, celebration!
